DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer-Hybrid, to join our team specializing in Electrolyzer-Operation for our Cummins Hydrogenics Unit in Mississauga, ON. Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  1. Ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
  2. Improve manufacturing equipment and processes using your knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices.
  3. Utilize continuous improvement tools to enhance work efficiency and quality.
  4. Follow Cummins standards and lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
  5. Communicate effectively with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
  6. Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
  7. Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to Cummins processes.
  8. Maintain relationships and coach key stakeholders to foster a collaborative work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  4. Drawing Interpretation: Integrating product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes.
  5. Equipment/Capital Procurement: Selecting manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs.
  6. Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  7. Manufacturing Knowledge: Implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.
  8. Process Documentation: Producing written manufacturing procedures to ensure continuity and standardization across processes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Required for the role:
- High CAD proficiency - able to design, tolerance, and draft equipment components for subsequent fabrication; with a preference for Solidworks, NX, or Creo.
- In-depth knowledge of various component manufacturing processes such as injection molding, metal forming, and CNC machining.
- Able to develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and assembly cells.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Asset for the role:
- This role requires being on-site 4 days a week.
- Knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and standards; in particular, Safeguarding of Machinery.
- Supervisory experience; able to lead, coach, and mentor intermediate-level manufacturing engineers.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary production teams utilizing KPI's to drive process improvement activities.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and utilizing PFDs, PFMEAs, and Control Plans to drive error-proofing and risk-reduction activities.
- Experience working in an Automotive manufacturing environment utilizing AIAG systems and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience integrating, troubleshooting, and sustaining automation technologies (pneumatic, hydraulic, servo-driven, and robotic) into automated assembly machinery.
- Working knowledge of GD&T to ASME standards.
- Experience setting up maintenance requirements, schedules, and documentation for production machinery and facilities.
- Able to effectively lead problem-solving activities using various root cause analysis tools (8D, 5Why, FTA, etc.).

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

Min Salary: $88,000
Max Salary: $132,000
