Manual AZ Operator

GFL Environmental is looking for an AZ Truck Operator to join our liquids team out of our Napanee location. The driver will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and customer service, which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote GFL’s wide range of service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections of trucks assigned
• Complete daily routes assigned by the scheduling TEAM
• Provide an exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote GFL’s service offerings
• Operate a tractor with box trailer/tanker, deliver and pick up various containerized wastes as well as other related products.
• Complete service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations
• Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment
• Participate in GFL’s safety programs including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• AZ Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to drive manual transmission (Required)
• Must be clean shaven (Required - may have to wear respirator)
• Monday-Friday with weekend work. Scheduling start times depend on client needs.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
• Able to work independently
• Customer service experience
• Self-motivated attitude
• Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
• Ability to work out of town and do potential overnights and weekends
• Must be flexible and dependable
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations
• Overtime as required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required
• Waste experience is considered an asset.
