Position Summary:
- To ensure an effective, efficient and safe shipping and receiving area
- To lead and engage the hourly group to ensure production receives all materials on time and in full
- To ensure finish good shipments are sent out on time and in full directly from Walkerville site and Pike Creek facility
- Inventory and excise control of all dry and finish goods at the Walkerville facility
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act per Hiram Walker & Son’s Ltd Policy.
- Ensure product is delivered on time and in full; internally and externally.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of resources – including people, space, equipment and facility.
- Direct supervision of Material Handling Utility Operators and Receivers.
- Inventory Accuracy & Excise Compliance.
- Dry supply and finish good cycle count.
- Direct shipments to customers.
- Shipments to Pike Creek facility.
- Supervision of shuttle services.
- Management of people including scheduling, Kronos, absenteeism, discipline and conviviality.
- Execution Overhead & CAPEX Budget.
- Continuous Improvement.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of food safety systems.
- Financial responsibility for Operational & Overhead: $2,000,000CDN and Capex: $200,000CDN.
- Regular work-related contact with Master Scheduler, PR USA, Human Resource, Director of Risk Management, Maintenance Manager, and Quality Department.
- External contact with Carriers, Contractors, Customers, and Excise office.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience in Distribution/Material Handling.
- Thorough understanding of inventory management and warehouse systems.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Able to multi-task and troubleshoot effectively.
- Problem Solving and root cause analysis.
- Health and safety compliance.
- Accident/Incident investigation.
Education:
- Required: Undergraduate Degree.
- Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Business / I.T. / Logistics.
Financial Responsibility:
- Participates in goal setting and accountable for own, limited budget for asset administration and goals.
- Operates in predetermined limits.
