About the Opportunity

The Manager of Clinical Planning reports to the Director site Lead VG site and collaborates with the Director, Managers, and Physician Leaders to deliver inpatient projects and achieve strategic goals. These efforts align with the Action for Health, a multi-year strategy addressing government mandates. The scope includes Must Do, Can’t Fail initiatives; Quality Improvement Initiatives; implementation of clinical service plans; and system accountability improvement processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Director, Victoria General Site Lead
  • Leading project planning, execution, and management for identified initiatives within the portfolio
  • Conducting detailed clinical impact assessments and mitigating risks associated with project implementation
  • Driving change management and ensuring operational readiness/transition for identified projects
  • Supporting clinical teams to improve service scorecards, performance metrics, and system accountability for inpatient surgical units
  • Overseeing related procurement processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinating and participating in project teams to ensure clinical and leadership approvals are obtained at key stages
  • Ensuring timely progress toward initiative milestones and goals
  • Providing strategic direction and prioritization for initiatives
  • Collaborating on business case development and analyzing project options with the Director and Business Manager
  • Supporting budget stewardship and resource allocation during project planning and implementation
  • Driving improvements to KPIs, such as patient outcomes, wait times, and safety metrics across the portfolio
  • Supporting the planning and development of future phases of the QEII New Generation project as they relate to the portfolio
  • This role requires strong leadership, comprehensive project management expertise, and an ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively to mitigate risks in a complex, multi-site healthcare environment.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of healthcare experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Strong facilitation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation (preferred)
  • Expertise in project and change management methodologies
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines in complex environments
  • Strong skills in communication, risk management, and strategic planning
  • Familiarity with clinical operations in inpatient surgical and palliative care settings
  • Experience applying quality management principles in healthcare
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and stakeholders effectively
  • Experience influencing peers and managing large-scale initiatives
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • The position is required to work onsite as it relates to working with clinical teams.

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
