YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

The Manager, Talent Acquisition, reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition will play a pivotal role in building our corporate talent acquisition function. This role will be responsible for recruiting for positions in Corporate, Construction and Exploration, as well as developing and managing our campus recruitment strategy for students and new graduates through the leadership of a team of Talent Engagement Specialists. On an as needed basis, the Manager will also support all international candidate sourcing, managing the process, and coordinating with related vendors and extended team members. In addition, this role will support corporate level projects on behalf of the function, including being the subject matter expert in the implementation of a new Applicant Tracking platform.

Corporate and International Talent Acquisition

  • Lead the recruitment process for professional to director-level positions, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and successful placements, supporting Exploration, Construction and Corporate functions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, HR Leaders and other stakeholders to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruitment plans.
  • Establish partnership with international agencies to support the attraction of international candidates, identifying the needs, managing the process, acting as liaison between TA function and international partners, and ensuring a smooth recruitment experience.
  • Manage, in partnership with local HR, any logistical mobility and onboarding aspects of international candidates.
  • Implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates and support the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Early Talent Strategy

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive campus recruitment strategy to attract top talent from universities, colleges, and technical schools across Canada.
  • Through leadership of campus recruiters execute recruitment efforts at universities, colleges, and technical schools, including planning and attending career fairs and campus events.
  • Identify opportunities to proactively and strategically foster relationships with both academic institutions and early talent candidates to ensure we are positioned as an employer of choice, securing a pipeline of future hires.
  • Manage and develop a team of specialists, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Continuously assess resourcing needs, developing a team to maximize operational efficiency, speed and quality of services provided.
  • Address performance issues as needed, proactively coaching team members for optimal performance.

Process and Project Management

  • In partnership with Communications, promote the company’s brand as an employer of choice through various initiatives, including participation in career fairs, campus events, and social media campaigns.
  • Provide project support and/or leadership as required, including SME on a Talent Acquisition Software Implementation, Employment Branding, Career Website updates etc.
  • Compliance: Ensure all recruitment practices comply with local labor laws and company policies.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience within HR, with at least 5 years within talent acquisition with a focus on corporate recruitment.
  • Experience in developing and executing campus recruitment strategies.
  • Experience in managing people.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition (e.g., CHRP, CHRL).
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment technologies.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations in Canada.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Ability and willingness to travel to all sites in Canada on an as needed basis.
