Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing, Planning and Analytics, the Pricing Manager will be responsible for applying their subject matter expertise to support development and execution of pricing strategies for a portfolio of AstraZeneca products. In this role you will support execution of pricing strategies as part of the market access and brand planning process and support gathering of insights, challenges and opportunities in the pricing, contracting, negotiations for assigned portfolio of products. You conduct pricing analyses to support business cases, implement internal contracting framework and validate contract rebates for assigned products. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn about market access environment and have ability to apply analytical skills to develop new business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the validation of Product Listing Agreement (PLA) invoices, ensuring accuracy of accruals and supervising contract performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Enhance contract life-cycle management through the implementation of annual price increases, pricing models for RFPs/contracts, and continuous improvement of negotiation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with PMPRB guidelines, coordinating the submission of semi-annual reports and working closely with internal partners to handle pricing governance.
  • Support strategic pricing initiatives, partnering with Senior Managers to develop innovative pricing constructs that improve commercial impact.
  • Design and build robust pricing models and scenario analyses to support pCPA and private payer negotiations, as well as Product Listing Agreements for both current and pipeline brands.
  • Monitor pricing strategy efficiency, compiling and analyzing data to assess the impact on brand performance and advise future decisions.
  • Develop and review financial models to support payer contracting strategies, ensuring alignment with brand goals and access objectives.
  • Conduct market analyses to assess pricing trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities within the Canadian healthcare landscape.
  • Support operational pricing excellence, including process optimization, pricing governance, and system improvements to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure end-to-end contract documentation is complete and aligned with internal approval processes and external regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, business impact assessments, and database management
  • Validated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill sophisticated data into actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Experience in market access or payer strategy is considered an asset, though not required
  • Prior exposure to pharmaceutical pricing is an advantage
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry landscape, including knowledge of IQVIA databases, is beneficial
  • Understanding of PMPRB data reporting and compliance requirements is a strong asset
