Manager- Senior Accountant

Jump Recruitment is currently seeking candidates for the permanent, full-time position of Manager-Senior Accountant for our client, Quinlan Boland Barrett, located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Support our clients ensuring their needs are met, identify key risks and ways to deliver added value, build and maintain strong relationships, provide advice, recommendations, and solutions.
• Analyze information and provide valuable solutions to a client’s opportunities and challenges.
• Plan, prepare, and execute audits, review engagements, and Notice to Reader files.
• Analyze, prepare, and file corporate and personal income tax returns, as well as trust returns.
• Organize, prepare, and file HST returns, and other government filings as required.
• Coach and support junior team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in business (preferably with a specialty in accounting and/or finance)
• 5 years of experience in accounting (preferably as a CPA in a public accounting practice)
• Knowledge and experience working with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

OUR PREFERRED CANDIDATE:

• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) including strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines within budget.
• Positive attitude and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in the close-knit team environment.
• Experience with Sage, Profile, Cantax, and CaseWare would be considered an asset.
