Contribute to the control of credit risk and profitability in the Canadian Retail Bank by assisting with risk assessment in the lending portfolio and helping to ensure adequate provisions are set aside. Contribute to preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports that analyze trends, issues, and relative interbank performance in delinquency and loan loss. Maintain databases supporting predictive models and complete detailed provisions independently.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the reporting, forecasting and annual provision planning process to determine targets for key risk metrics, such as PCL and Net write-offs, for the Canadian portfolio.
- Provide insights and commentaries on key senior executive presentations for the Senior Credit Committee and other executive reporting, regulatory information and investor information related to trends in provisioning and main drivers’ variances when compared to prior quarters/plan/forecast.
- Ensure end to end process is compliant with internal, external and SOX audit requirements, including providing support to address audit and SOX testing.
- Work closely with business lines, Finance and other stakeholders in resolving any questions from Senior Management.
- Prepare key senior executive presentations and commentary for Senior Credit Committee and other executive reporting, regulatory information and investor information related to trends in provisioning and main drivers in variances compared to prior quarters/plan/forecast. Provide support and commentary on questions from executive management, investor relations, audit, and OSFI.
- Build strategic relationships with key partners in Modeling, Risk Product teams and Collections to gain a comprehensive, in-depth view of the portfolio quality and anticipate changes in losses.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- University degree in business, economics or quantitative subject.
- Financial designation is preferable.
- Strong math and/or statistics background and the necessary expert understanding of the theoretical concepts underlying risk management.
- Knowledge of SAS is a must.
- Knowledge of financial modelling, forecasting methodologies and statistical analysis is an asset.
- Integrity, high attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy are critical to ensure quality outputs. Solid ability to direct varied activities within tight time frames.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are essential in dealing with many senior internal and external parties and preparing executive management reports.
- Must have 3+ years of retail banking experience.
- Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office suite of applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
- Strong ability to analyze raw data, understand business requirements and translate it to data backed insights.
