We are seeking a Manager, Project Engineering to lead our team responsible for delivering project engineering activities in support of Distribution and Underground Residential Distribution (URD) projects and portfolios. This role also oversees the team that provides Drafting support across ENMAX Power.
The Manager will provide technical, business, and strategic oversight for the broader team, while offering direct leadership to the Team Leads of each discipline. This includes ensuring that both project and portfolio requirements are effectively met.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead a technical team responsible for project engineering, design, drafting and administrative activities associated with Distribution and URD projects.
- Coach and mentor discipline Team Leads, fostering their leadership growth and guiding their teams to successfully executing their respective portfolios.
- Define and oversee the priorities and goals for the Project Engineering team.
- Ensure the production of timely and quality engineering deliverables including Conceptual Designs, Design Scopes of Work, Engineering Work Packages, Construction Support, and final Engineering records.
- Work with the discipline specific team leads to forecast and monitor the project workload, ensuring resources are available to support projects when required.
- Oversee the strategic procurement and performance of external engineering service providers to supplement internal engineering resource capacity.
- Provide input into the Distribution Integrated Plan to ensure adequate timing and resources for the execution of supporting engineering work.
- Provide Engineering support, as required, to various stakeholders across ENMAX Power, including Standards, System Planning, Asset, Standards, OCE.
- Work collaboratively with other Managers to improve operational efficiency, customer service, engagement, and the safety of our people.
- Ensure departmental adherence to EPC’s Professional Practice Management Plan, and maintain discipline specific Supplementary Documents are kept up to date and followed.
- Act as an APEGA Responsible Member for EPC for the applicable disciplines.
Education Required:
- University degree in Engineering
- P.Eng status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA)
Experience:
- 10 to 15 years of applicable experience in the engineering, project management, or construction management of electrical infrastructure projects or similar
- Demonstrated leadership experience.

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
