EZ Steel is a reputable miscellaneous and structural steel fabrication company which offers outstanding quality and customer service to our clients throughout North America. EZ Steel was established in 2010 and is part of the Camnor group, offering a complete steel fabrication experience. We are currently looking for a Plant Manager to join our team located in Leduc, Alberta.

Position Overview: As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising the production team, and optimizing efficiency in our fabrication shop. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and equipment maintenance and ensuring the company health and safety program is followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Oversight: Manage and supervise day-to-day operations in the fabrication shop, ensuring smooth workflows, safety compliance, and high-quality production.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a small team of fabricators and shop workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  3. Scheduling & Planning: Coordinate production schedules to meet client deadlines and project requirements, ensuring optimal use of resources and equipment.
  4. Quality Control: Ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications, implementing rigorous quality checks throughout the production process.
  5. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory of raw materials, tools, and supplies, working closely with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials.
  6. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards in the shop, conducting regular safety audits and ensuring the team follows all health and safety regulations.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and implement strategies to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
  8. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on production performance, timelines, challenges, and any other pertinent issues.
  9. Maintenance: Develop and follow a preventative maintenance program to ensure the building and maintenance is carried out, while keeping costs under control.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication shop, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  2. Skills: Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding, and machine operation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  3. Leadership: Proven experience in managing and motivating a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve production challenges quickly and effectively.
  5. Organizational Skills: Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  7. Education: A relevant post-secondary education or certification in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Job Types:

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
