We have a full-time position as a Manager, Operations Accounting in our Head Office in Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations Controller MSS, the Manager Operations Accounting – ERP will be responsible for the accounting functions of Modular Space Solutions (MSS) Division as the division takes on implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning system. The Manager Operations Accounting - ERP is responsible for aiding the Business Unit with accounting functions, detailed analysis, month-end reporting and budget & forecasts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Vice President, Operations Controller MSS with updates for the accounting for the division.
  • Provide oversight of the division accounting functions including ensuring month-end accounting processes are followed and results comply with the company’s accounting policies;
    • Works with the team performing related accounting work for divisions across North America.
    • Conducts analytical review of business unit performance and results to budget, for monthly management reporting, forecasting, accruals and actuals.
  • Review all weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for accuracy and reliability.
  • Review and analyze business unit financial forecasting including income statement, capital and cash flows.
  • Upload accruals and journal entries in SAP for posting.
  • Prepares and evaluates financial operating reports and presents findings and recommendations.
  • Oversees monthly sales commission for MSS Sales Team.
  • Participate in partnership audits as required by stakeholders which includes intercompany, interdivisional and Joint Venture elimination processes.
  • Support Senior Leadership & Regional Management in preparing budget & forecasts and reporting of actuals.
  • Support management in all accounting, audit, tax, treasury and controls related issues.
  • Assist in performing ad hoc analysis for internal reporting purposes.
  • Assist Corporate Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting and external auditors for business unit audit requests and external reporting.
  • Ensuring proper adherence to all administrative and operational processes, procedures and policies in relation to assets; and provide feedback to effectively design preventative and detective controls to aid in the accuracy timeliness of financial statements.
  • Regularly offers process improvement ideas, shares best practices and facilitates standardization among divisions.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional accounting designation is required.
  • Rental and Project accounting experience is an asset.
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting or an accounting related role.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • IFRS Accounting experience is an asset.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of accounting programs, ERP Systems and Microsoft Applications.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of professional interaction with various levels of operations and other departments.
  • Works well under pressure with multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and takes initiatives to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
