Salary Range: $7755-$10080 Monthly

Grade: MCP.08

The Strategic and Corporate Services Branch is seeking a highly motivated, strategic professional and innovative leader to join our team as Manager of Operational Services.

As the successful candidate, the Manager of Operational Services will be immersed in a variety of emerging issues and activities across the ministry and will work with diverse business areas. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will:

  1. Provide strategic oversight and direction on the ministry’s information technology (IT) portfolio, including the development and implementation of IT strategic plans, capital asset plans and budgets.
  2. Lead and collaborate with ministry staff to implement business and IT policies, process improvements and initiatives aligned to ministry and government priorities.
  3. Manage the ministry’s accommodation portfolio, including space planning, tenant improvements and budget.
  4. Liaise with the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, ensuring ministry IT and accommodation needs and requirements are met.
  5. Build collaborative relationships with ministry staff, other government ministries, external stakeholders and service providers.
  6. Provide project advisory for strategic initiatives related to IT, accommodations, operations and corporate services.
  7. Provide advice and guidance to levels of the Ministry in relation to operational and administration policies and procedures.

You will need:

  1. Excellent leadership and management experience with interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills;
  2. The ability to constructively manage and lead employees with experience creating and sustaining an innovative and supportive environment that enables staff to achieve results and supports our corporate values;
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, build consensus through collaboration, and exercise sound judgement with discretion when handling confidential and controversial issues;
  4. Knowledge of government decision-making processes, strategic and business planning, public policy, business transformation, and organizational change management principles and methodologies;
  5. Analytical and conceptual problem solving skills;
  6. Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to translate into plain language between business and technology teams;
  7. Exceptional skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required in this position would be obtained through the completion of a post-secondary degree in Business Administration or related discipline, or an equivalency of experience and training demonstrated by a history of accomplishment.
