As a member of EMR’s Mineral Resources Branch, you are part of a professional team whose objective is to advance resource planning to support the orderly development of Yukon’s mineral resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. The Mining Lands Unit works to build a competitive and sustainable mining industry in Yukon while protecting the Yukon government from environmental liabilities of mineral exploration and placer mine development.
Reporting to the Director, and as a member of the Mineral Resources senior management team, this position is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating a number of program areas including: granting and maintenance of mineral rights, preparation of decision documents pursuant to YESAA, approval of mining land use operating plans, and preparation of quartz mining licenses.

Please note that selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.- Degree in Public Administration, Environmental Sciences, Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field;
- Developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, strategies, policies, and services for natural resource development and management;
- Administration of resource legislation and experience dealing with regulatory matters;
- Building partnerships within and outside of the organization, including the development of successful protocols and partnerships with First Nations, communities, non-government organizations, and other government departments;
- Significant experience coaching/mentoring and team building of multidisciplinary teams;
- Significant experience managing human and financial resources.
