This role involves managing infrastructure, security, and IT projects while fostering innovation and aligning IT systems with business growth objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
Technical Administration & IT Operations
- Serve as the primary IT resource, supporting Office 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, and Windows environments.
- Oversee IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
- Manage provisioning, user support, and system optimization.
Vendor and Service Provider Management
- Oversee relationships with MSPs and SaaS vendors, ensuring adherence to SLAs and budget alignment.
- Evaluate and implement new technology solutions to support growth.
IT Security and Compliance
- Enforce IT security best practices and ensure compliance with standards like GDPR and NIST.
- Conduct regular reviews and collaborate with MSPs to address security risks.
Strategic IT Planning
- Develop and execute an IT roadmap to support company growth.
- Implement IT projects, including upgrades and process automation, on time and within budget.
- Identify emerging technologies to enhance systems and workflows.
User Support and Training
- Collaborate with MSPs for Level 1 support and provide advanced technical assistance.
- Develop IT documentation and training to improve system utilization and employee efficiency.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance productivity and reduce inefficiencies.
- Adapt IT strategies to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field, or equivalent certifications and experience.
- 6+ years in IT roles, preferably in biotech or high-tech industries.
- Authority to work in Canada
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency with Office 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience in IT security, vulnerability management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and tools like Jira and MS Project.
Leadership and Problem-Solving
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to automate processes, optimize operations, and deliver results.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications (MS-100, MS-700, AZ-104) are desirable.
