Salary: $9,197 to $11,956 monthly ($110,364 to $143,472 annually)

As the Manager, IT Services, you are responsible for all facets of SaskWater’s Information Technology area. You provide vision, leadership and hands-on support for developing and implementing IT initiatives and solutions in support of corporate goals and ongoing operations. You help drive change management throughout the organization as it relates to information technology, maintain and enhance the IT program, and in collaboration with IT service provider(s), develop and maintain the IT infrastructure to contribute to the business strategy and corporate initiatives throughout SaskWater.

Job Specifications

  1. Implements SaskWater’s IT strategic plan, ensuring that IT programs, services and initiatives are provided in an effective and efficient manner.
  2. Directs and provides day-to-day expertise, coaching and leadership to IT resources with regard to information systems design and development, systems planning, programming, operations, architecture, data processing, data security, networks, systems support and/or analysis to ensure corporate goals and objectives are met.
  3. Provides leadership for the IT services unit including planning, coaching, work assignment and review, recruitment, selection, performance management and mentoring to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the unit.
  4. Develops, implements and monitors IT standards, practices, procedures and controls to maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility, ensuring data integrity, security and legal and regulatory compliance.
  5. Oversees development and control of the IT budget, including financial estimates for operating and capital expenses expected from meeting the IT division’s deliverables.
  6. Manages the third-party IT service provider relationships and contracts to ensure the ITSM Partners are meeting SaskWater requirements and fulfilling contractual obligations.
  7. Develops, implements and monitors IT security standards, practices, procedures and controls to ensure the SaskWater IT environment is secure, legal and within regulatory compliance. This includes an enterprise-wide information security plan for data and servers, corporate cyber security and disaster recovery.
  8. Supports the Implementation of enterprise technology projects including Oracle Fusion modules, upgrades and enhancements, Microsoft 365 applications, Asset Management, etc.

To qualify, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or Engineering. You have a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) designation and ITIL Foundation certification, along with a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

In addition to the above qualifications, the job requires 10 years of progressively more responsible experience in the following areas:

  • People Management

  • IT Service Management process and procedures
  • IT Technologies
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions

Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol test. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license is required.
