Job description

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is seeking a Manager, Insurance Reporting – Finance to join their high-performing team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong background in insurance reporting and a passion for driving insights through analysis and collaboration. The successful candidate will play a key role in monthly and quarterly financial reporting, provide detailed financial analysis, and support forecasting for the insurance division.


This is a 12-month contract, hybrid in Mississauga.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly journal entries and financial statements
  2. Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting packages aligned with company policies
  3. Provide in-depth analysis to explain results and assist with forecasting
  4. Partner with key business units to evolve and enhance reporting capabilities
  5. Support external auditor requests during interim and year-end audits
  6. Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and strategic planning activities
  7. Research and implement changes in reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and relevance
  8. Drive continuous improvement by streamlining reporting processes and enhancing documentation
  9. Act as a backup for other roles within the Finance team, ensuring operational continuity

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  1. CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA), MBA, or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance roles within the financial services industry
  3. Advanced Excel skills with strong knowledge of financial analytical systems
  4. Proficiency with accounting/reporting tools such as Tableau
  5. Strong initiative and a client-focused approach
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience with insurance products and insurance-specific accounting practices
