What You’ll Be Doing

The Manager of Insurance and Trust Services will play a pivotal role in driving business initiatives and priorities, encompassing project management, process simplification, reporting, and performance measurement. This position will involve direct collaboration with various stakeholders to advance initiatives and achieve desired outcomes, with a primary focus on supporting leaders and advisors within the Insurance, Financial Planning, and Trust sectors. Additionally, this role fosters a proactive client service environment, enhancing team productivity and client servicing effectiveness by providing valuable insights to business leaders and advisors, enabling them to execute plans successfully. As a key member of the Financial Planning team, you will ensure that the products you support are fully aligned with and integrated into CIBC Private Wealth’s financial planning strategies and high net worth client initiatives.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Market Intelligence: By staying informed about relevant market trends, consumer research, and industry information, you’ll identify opportunities that align with Private Wealth's overall strategic objectives. You systematically gather input from Investment Advisors (IAs), Estate Planning Specialists (EPSs), and Senior Trust Estate Consultants (STECs) to evaluate existing offerings, ensuring that products meet market and client needs. When necessary, you recommend product enhancements or rationalization based on your findings. Additionally, you familiarize yourself with competitive information regarding insurance and trust product and service offerings across the industry, enabling you to contribute effectively to our strategic initiatives.

  • Product and Business Management: You work closely with appropriate stakeholders to ensure that effective and efficient business and operating processes are established and managed to support excellent client service, growth, and profitability. You collaborate with vendors and internal groups to ensure that all product changes are implemented promptly, updating all forms, supporting materials, and processes while keeping all necessary parties, including clients, informed of these changes. Additionally, you partner with Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to maintain an updated library of informative, client-friendly brochures and collateral materials. You assess the impact of proposed changes on technology and back-office operations, evaluating their effectiveness and feasibility, and make recommendations to business leaders. Your contributions also include creating and implementing a regional plan for sourcing business and raising awareness of Trust and insurance products and services. You assess new business opportunities, gather the required information, identify potential risks, and provide mitigation strategies. Furthermore, you support Trust and Insurance training sessions for targeted partner audiences and participate in client seminars. You also prepare accurate and timely monthly reports on business development activities and work with CIBC Trust and insurance partners to ensure the smooth onboarding of new clients. Travel will be required as part of this position throughout the territory.
