Saskatchewan Blue Cross, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Manager, Individual Sales to join our team in the Individual Sales department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.
JOB FUNCTION
Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Sales, the Manager, Individual Sales will develop and implement the annual sales budgets and quotas for the Individual Sales team, perform monthly sales forecasts including reporting, analytics and insights, as well as deliver direct and distribution sales programs with insights from market conditions and trends to drive results. The Manager, Individual Sales will provide leadership and direction to the Individual Sales team, oversee channel sales for both distribution and direct business, in addition to overseeing the retention of personal insurance business. Using proven networking and relationship-building skills, this role will be responsible for developing and nurturing strategic relationships across Saskatchewan.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate strategic business requirements into sales results, concrete plans, milestones, activities and rigorous objectives/standards for Individual Sales team members across all sales channels for personal line products.
- Ensure Individual Sales strategies mobilize effectively and continuously improve sales results across all inter-departmental processes, channels and touchpoints.
- Provide clear, regular and transparent sales results and channel performance communications to leadership across SBC.
- Deploy innovative business development strategies to ensure Individual Sales delivers on organizational objectives, values, quality of service and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the delivery of Individual Sales team and advisor compensation and incentive plans, ensuring they are current, effective and motivating.
- Lead the Individual Sales teams under a shared vision and SBC’s values, ensuring sales team members work as a unit to deliver results, share best practice and address escalated sales issues.
- Develop and deploy practical and comprehensive sales programs, action plans, initiatives and campaigns, aligned to strategy, driving effective sales pipeline management and results delivery.
- Empower and motivate Individual Sales team members to enhance personal performance and achieve/exceed their objectives by developing clear performance objectives aligned to overall goals, effective planning, monitoring and analysis of performance data, championing sales culture and mindset and high-performance standard.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Business Administration, Commerce), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
- 5+ years of related sales experience with 3 years of leadership accountability.
- Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Previous experience in the insurance industry. Experience in group or individual insurance would be considered an asset.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented with a history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, easily building rapport and influencing peers, cross-functional counterparts, senior leaders and business partners, always treating colleagues and stakeholders with respect.
- Team focused with strong collaboration and negotiating skills.
- Proactive and solution-focused problem-solving skills in determining root causes and advancing solutions.
- Challenge the status quo and think out of the box, identifying and implementing innovative sales and service opportunities to enable the organization to move forward.
- Demonstrated ability in segmentation and sales and profitability analysis.
- Proven project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize existing workload, while maintaining a strong focus on quality.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Mathematical reasoning, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Technology savvy, with demonstrated proficiency in CRM, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook with the ability to easily learn new programs.
- Willingness and ability to travel within and outside of Saskatchewan.
- The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis.
