Department: Human Resources

Type of Position: Full Time, Contract (14 Month Contract)

Location: 7th Floor, 5160 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON

Reporting to: Director, Human Resources

Work Model: Hybrid – flexible work schedule (All remote work must be completed from your home office within the province of Ontario.)

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager is accountable for providing business partner support to leaders in various business areas, overseeing the delivery of compensation, benefits, job evaluation, performance enrichment, and recruitment programs. Your leadership will drive employee engagement, retention, and foster an excellent employee experience.

This is a hybrid role requiring working two (2) days in the office and three (3) days remotely, per week.

Areas of Responsibilities:

  1. Business Support: Partner closely with business leaders to develop and implement HR solutions, providing advice and support on a wide range of HR issues.
  2. Organizational Effectiveness: Advance Tarion’s culture and implement solutions related to organization design and effectiveness.
  3. Total Rewards Program Management: Provide direction on processes and structures that form part of Tarion’s total rewards suite.
  4. Compensation Management: Oversee compensation program, administer salary reviews, and monitor market pay conditions.
  5. Performance Enrichment: Manage the performance enrichment cycle and oversee high potential employee reporting.
  6. Project Management: Lead projects to influence and drive execution towards required results.
  7. Data Driven Decision Making: Track and interpret people metrics to derive insights for retention, recruiting, and compensation planning.

A great candidate for this position will have:

  • 6-10 years of successful experience in Human Resources with a strong generalist background.
  • A university degree with a related specialization; CHRP or CHRL are assets.
  • Excellent knowledge of HR disciplines including organizational design, employee relations, and compensation principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation.
  • Strong managerial skills and the ability to provide direct feedback and coaching.
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence and ability to navigate diverse stakeholder situations.
  • Ability to analyze, resolve, and communicate regarding complex topics.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and HR applications.
  • Self-motivated with effective multitasking abilities.
