ATCO Structures is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager (18 Month Term) to support with our strategic growth plans across Canada. The Manager, Human Resources, who reports to the Senior Vice President, Structures Canada, is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of the business and is accountable for leading a range of programs relating to employee development, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, recruitment and implementation of workforce strategies.

In this role, you will lead a team of five Human Resources Professionals and will be a member of the Structures Canada Leadership team and the ATCO Human Resources Leadership Team. This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta.

What You Get to Do:

Business Leadership:

  1. Collaborate with the Senior Vice President, and the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement workforce strategies for newly acquired and existing lines of business
  2. Leading high volume recruitment efforts in manufacturing facilities across Canada
  3. Provide HR subject matter expertise
  4. Provide HR coaching and guidance to the leadership team with a focus on talent development, employee engagement and retention

People Leadership:

  1. Build and maintain strong, collaborative and trusted relationships with the leadership team, operations management teams, and employees across the organization
  2. Lead and mentor a high-performance team of HR Business Partners and Recruitment Advisor
  3. Coach and lead others, valuing the importance of building a culture where people are motivated and empowered to achieve their goals

Human Resource Leadership:

  1. Develop and manage innovative recruitment practices and procedures that ensure employee attraction and retention
  2. Oversee labour and employee relations for the business unit including leading investigations as required

Who You Are:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  2. 10+ years of progressive experience in HR roles, preferably in manufacturing, construction or project-oriented business sectors
  3. Experience working with business operations and in a Union environment is an advantage
  4. 5+ years of leadership experience with a team of direct reports
  5. Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
  6. Demonstrated success in managing projects and continuous process improvement
  7. Understands the importance of creating departmental budgets while ensuring costs are managed within approved parameters
  8. Enjoy getting involved in the day-to-day operations, promoting functional excellence and inspiring others to raise the bar.
