About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Director of Perioperative Services, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the management, planning and coordination within the Acute and Chronic Pain Management sites in the Central Zone, including daily operations of people-centered programs within and external to the Nova Scotia Health (NSH). This role requires a high degree of decision making, change management, team building and collaboration skills. Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department.

Working in a co-leadership model, the Health Services Manager is also responsible for working with physician co-leads of the areas required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management/patient flow in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum. Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviors. This position also requires a high degree of initiative and change leadership ability. The ability to travel freely is required.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  1. Baccalaureate Degree in Health Discipline
  2. Masters in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration is preferred
  3. Must be registered with the professional college of relevant health discipline or eligible for registration
  4. Minimum 5 years' relevant clinical experience is required
  5. Pain Services experience preferred
  6. Previous leadership/management experience is required
  7. CHE certification is an asset
  8. Demonstrates analytical, independent and creative decision making
  9. Demonstrates high degrees of self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
  10. Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
  11. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded health care system, nationally and internationally
  12. Demonstrates the leadership capabilities that encompass the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework
  13. Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
