Job Description
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager who will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of HSS's IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for executing a long-term IT roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals, modernizing our IT systems, and adopting our cloud strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, hyperscale cloud technologies, and emerging trends in IT modernization. This role is based fully onsite out of Mississauga, ON and reports to the Global Director – IT Infrastructure and Operations.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to support the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the IT team.
Strategic Planning:
- Implement our long-term IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to understand business objectives and translate them into IT strategies.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of the IT roadmap to ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
Cloud Strategy:
- Design and execute a cloud adoption strategy, including migration planning, implementation, and ongoing management.
- Assess current infrastructure and identify opportunities for cloud integration.
- Ensure seamless migration of applications and data to cloud platforms while minimizing downtime and disruption.
Infrastructure Management & Modernization:
- Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, databases, and disaster recovery systems.
- Lead initiatives to modernize the IT stack, ensuring the adoption of the latest technologies and best practices.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance.
- Oversee the decommissioning of outdated systems and the implementation of new solutions.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all IT systems and services.
- Implement and manage robust monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard company data and operations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management:
- Work closely with global business units to understand their IT needs and ensure the infrastructure supports their operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on infrastructure projects, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and services that can enhance the company’s IT infrastructure.
Budget Management and Compliance:
- Ensure that all infrastructure components meet security and compliance requirements.
- Implement robust security measures to protect against cyber threats and data breaches.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented without compromising quality or performance.
- Monitor and control infrastructure-related expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud architecture design, adoption/migration, IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Minimum 10 years of data center management experience.
- Solid experience in cloud strategy, migration and implementation with knowledge of major cloud platforms in hybrid cloud environments and/or multi-cloud management.
- Proven experience in managing and modernizing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and databases with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including virtualization, networking concepts, storage (preference of HP3Par or Pure platforms), and backup solutions.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals and concepts (IP subnetting, routing, firewalls). Hands-on network management experience is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant certification(s) from AWS, GCP, and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
WORK AUTHORIZATIONS AND TRAVEL;
- 30% business travel slated to Europe and across North America.
