Job Summary

The Manager, Forecasting and Demand Planning has the mandate of delivering accurate forecasting of Apotex's marketed portfolio of products in Canada, as well as the products in its pipeline. In addition, this role expands beyond demand planning responsibilities to support the Senior Director, Forecasting and Demand Planning with all forecast-related processes which can include Financial Forecast Review, Demand Review, portfolio optimization, lifecycle management, intel sharing with sales teams, product relaunches, and support of analysts with tools and process leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Create, maintain and communicate product forecasts and assumptions as required.
  2. Review and analyze market data using both external and internal data sources to assist in the identification and interpretation of key industry trends and findings.
  3. Forecast volume and financials for all Business Development opportunities to introduce new partnership products into the Apotex portfolio.
  4. Monitor monthly sales trends of all marketed Apotex products/SKUs, and future forecasts of all pipeline products.
  5. Identify rationale for growth/decline of sales and monitor performance metrics to target across the product portfolio.
  6. Work closely with Sales Management to maintain up-to-date knowledge of product listings by customer, build consensus market share assumptions and create related forecast/demand scenarios in order to influence production plans, customer allocation and to support product profitability.
  7. Provide detailed, product-level analytical support to Revenue Management and Marketing teams, as key inputs of the monthly Demand Review and annual Sales Planning process.
  8. Lead key cross-functional groups meetings (Marketing, Sales, Operations, IP, Regulatory Affairs) to both maintain up-to-date market assumptions, and provide feedback of Commercial requirements related to Existing product forecast changes, to the business.
  9. Chair key cross-functional meetings that drive business performance.
  10. Develop and maintain departmental forecast management tools (e.g., SAP Integrated Business Planning Software for Supply Chain, Discontinuation tracking, Forecast templates, Product Performance dashboards, Risk/Opp evaluations, etc.) as well as forecast methodology to ensure continuous accuracy improvement.
  11. Perform analyses at the portfolio, family, molecule, and/or SKU level to formulate recommendations in support of product viability, SKU rationalization, product optimization and profitability, etc.
  12. Guide Junior Analysts on current methodologies and best practices, share new analytical techniques.
  13. Work in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements

Education
University Degree in Business Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced analytical and technical abilities with a sound knowledge of quantitative decision models.
Strong track record of process design and process improvement.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Detail oriented, diplomatic team player with a proactive results orientation.
Able to work with a minimum of supervision and manage cross-functional project teams.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications as well as enterprise software systems.

Experience
5+ years experience in a forecast analyst, or demand planning.
Experience forecasting brand and/or biologic pharmaceutical products preferred.
