SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Manager, Emissions Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's emissions reduction strategies and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This role involves developing and implementing approaches and actions to minimize the environmental impact of the company's operations, monitoring emissions levels, sponsoring emissions reduction capital projects, translating and communicating regulatory requirements for the business, and working with various departments to promote sustainable practices.
Position DetailsNon-union - This position is permanent full time.
Manage and provide leadership to assigned workgroup in the delivery of effective and efficient environmental programs and services.
Lead internal committees, including Executive-level steering committees, formed to create compliance strategies for emerging regulations.
Assess environmental operating practices against regulatory compliance, corporate standards and best management practices to identify and develop plans to manage potential long-term liabilities.
Monitor regulatory developments and identify impacts to corporate activities; develop recommendations and oversee implementation of changes to environmental programs to ensure compliance.
Identify, assess, evaluate and implement departmental process enhancements.
Engage a variety of internal departments for input into compliance strategies and implement changes utilizing change management to ensure successful implementation.
Communicate existing and emerging regulatory issues to the Executive, the Board and other internal stakeholders through a variety of methods, including formal presentations.
Engage with provincial and federal regulators during the regulatory development process to ensure that compliance obligations are representative and achievable.
Identify and support research, partnership and other collaborative opportunities in support of corporate strategic plans.
Participate in government/industry stakeholder dialogue groups/committees to maintain awareness of emerging environmental regulations and requirements and provide guidance and recommendations for corporate responses.
Other related duties as assigned.
Degree in natural/environmental or physical sciences, or engineering.
Professional designation (e.g., Agrologist, Geoscientist, Biologist, Engineer) registered in Saskatchewan.
Seven (7) years of related experience that includes exposure to environmental systems management, industry practices and pipeline operations.
Highly collaborative; interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build, manage and foster relationships across the organization and external parties.
Ability to coach, mentor and influence employee engagement while building and maintaining effective relationships and empowering team members to succeed.
Ability to foster a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional InformationTravel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
