We are currently seeking a temporary manager to lead the Disability Services team for approximately 2 years.

About the team
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Disability Services team provides day-to-day administration for the Teachers’ Long Term Disability Plan and rehabilitation back-to-work services to teachers.
What you’ll do
The Manager, Disability Services provides leadership to the Teachers’ Long-Term Disability Plan and is responsible for the delivery of the plan administration. This position provides leadership to the internal operations of the work unit and implements short- and long-range action plans while remaining aligned with the vision and strategic plan. This position is responsible for the positive growth and development of the case management and disability administration team overseeing the operations of the plans including human resources, communications, and plan administration, and other operations to ensure the effective delivery of the disability benefits.

Requirements:
What you’ll bring
A university degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent plus 5-7 years of directly related and progressive experience in benefits and/or disability case management.
NIDMAR, Group Benefit Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation would be an asset.
Demonstrated staff supervisory and disability management abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with members, employees at all organizational levels and with officials of other organizations.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply disability plan legislation, text and policies.
Experience and knowledge of principles of disability plans, industry guidelines standards and trends, and regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide range of people in varying circumstances.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant decisions.
