Role Description

The Manager, Communications and Public Affairs is responsible for building public awareness of both QuadReal’s and Parkbridge’s purposes, brands, and businesses. This role will focus on QuadReal’s Canadian portfolio, including the residential asset class, as well as Parkbridge Resorts and Communities. The successful candidate will support media and government relations activities, alongside senior members of the QuadReal team.

Job Responsibilities:

Public Affairs

1. Develop a solid understanding of the practical implications of government policy at local, provincial, and federal levels as it relates to the real estate and residential sector in Canada.
2. Monitor and track the impact of legislation on the residential sector; draft backgrounders and updates to advise senior leadership.
3. Write, edit, and develop content for various external channels and key stakeholder audiences (government, industry, peers, and partners).
4. Work with senior QuadReal Residential leadership in engaging with external stakeholders to advance organizational initiatives, policies, and priorities.
5. Support community relations activities, sponsorships, and engagements.

Communications and Media Relations:

1. Support the development of corporate communications materials, case studies, and campaigns.
2. Leverage research insights and analytics to drive communications activities and track results.
3. Oversee the creation of digital and social content.
4. Identify and assess relevant media issues, news, and events by proactively monitoring industry and market-related events.
5. Provide strategic counsel and advice to senior management on media interactions.
6. Develop senior leadership speaker program and preparation for all activities.
7. Engage and respond to media inquiries and assist in the management of significant issues.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in a related position, including previously supporting senior leadership.
2. A university degree in a related field of study is considered an asset, though an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
3. Strong knowledge of public policy, government processes, and legislation.
4. Able to articulate complex ideas and influence key decision-makers.
5. Experience with project management and program delivery, including budget management.
6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrates sensitivity and tact in interpersonal relations.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed public speaking skills.
