Manager, Campus Planning & Real Estate
Primary Purpose: The Manager, Campus Planning and Real Estate provides management, leadership and oversight to campus master planning, space planning and all university real estate in order to align the physical use and development of the campus and the real estate portfolio with academic and research plans.
This position is responsible for a team of specialists involved with all aspects of campus master planning, space planning, real estate and real property acquisitions, sales, leases, disposals, mineral rights, and property management.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director, Planning, Design & Construction, this individual advises and works with the University’s senior administration, internal and external stakeholders, committee members, and department heads campus wide to develop and carry out high-level campus wide master planning, space planning and real estate strategic plans and initiatives to maximize the use and value of the University’s physical assets. This position works independently to provide leadership and frameworks for the development and implementation of the Campus Master Plan and associated plans, identification of space strategies and creative space solutions, development permitting and site selection, financial feasibility and market analyses, and all aspects of real estate asset management.
The position is strategic in focus, with planning horizon and the implications of recommendations being often greater than five years in impact. The position routinely addresses complexities impeding the delivery of service and solves problems by applying planning, space and real estate principles and frameworks and processes consistently, with the long term best interests of the university in mind. The position requires well developed organizational, relationship building and project management skills.

Qualifications:
Education: A master's degree in planning, business administration, engineering, finance, or other related field.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning, real estate management or consulting, development or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills: Possesses advanced subject matter knowledge of real estate management, negotiation as well as financial processes such as forecasting, budgeting, and analysis in the context of commercial projects. Able to work collaboratively and has experience in building strong strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex problems and to identify resolutions in the absence of guideline or precedent. Has experience in project management and change management and experience implementing processes or frameworks that can be applied to assist decision-making. Strong business acumen, senior-level communication and presentation skills.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $118,954.00 - 199,130.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
