Job description

Why BCAA?

Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring a Manager, BCAA Connect based in our Head Office in Burnaby.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (2 Remote / 3 On Site). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

As the Manager, BCAA Connect, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations, engagement strategy, and content vision of BCAA Connect—an online community platform. This innovative role plays a key part in driving BCAA’s broader strategic goals by helping connect Members with one another around relevant local topics, initiatives, and shared interests across British Columbia.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on content development, community-building, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll lead strategy, manage operations, and work directly with internal and external partners to ensure BCAA Connect remains an engaging, meaningful, and Member-focused platform.

Who you are:

  • You have a creative and entrepreneurial mindset—you’re an innovator at heart.

  • You are experienced in community engagement and content strategy with a strong sense of what inspires conversation and action.

  • You’re comfortable writing content, jumping into threads, and shaping the tone and direction of a Member-driven space.

  • You excel in working across teams and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • You are future-focused, results-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

  • You are organized, strategic, and able to manage competing priorities with professionalism and focus.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the successful daily operations of the BCAA Connect online community, ensuring an engaging and supportive environment for Members.

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule the rollout of community features in collaboration with internal partners.

  • Design and implement a content and engagement strategy that encourages user-generated content and organic community growth.

  • Actively participate in the community: writing content articles, launching discussion threads, and responding to users.

  • Identify opportunities to connect Members around shared needs such as BCAA benefits, local travel, home services, or regional support topics.

  • Provide guidance, training, and feedback to ensure consistent application of moderation standards.

  • Develop content calendars, promotional strategies, and community playbooks that support BCAA’s brand and business strategy.

  • Monitor performance metrics and community health to inform ongoing improvements.

  • Build relationships with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate community features, support marketing efforts, and ensure platform consistency.

  • Confidently represent the platform internally, sharing updates and insights with senior stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Post-graduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5–7 years in marketing, communications, customer success, or community leadership.

  • Strong understanding of online community dynamics, including engagement strategy, content moderation, and growth.

  • Proven ability to create content and drive user participation through innovative storytelling and digital campaigns.

  • Demonstrated leadership on cross-functional projects and stakeholder management.

  • Proven financial acumen, including experience with content budgets, forecasts, and resource planning.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office and comfort with digital platforms and content management tools.

  • Bonus Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in B2C environments, public relations, or fast-paced digital marketing settings.

Internal Applicants: Please note that the internal posting closes on April 11, 2025, and the role is a M2 position.

The salary range for this position is $91,200 to $100,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand, and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.

What we offer:

  • The chance to make a difference every day in the lives of British Columbians, BCAA Members, and our communities.

  • Career and personal development to help you grow and reach your goals.

  • Incentives that recognize team and individual sales and performance.

  • Flexible benefits to support your health and lifestyle, and wellness dollars* to keep your body, mind, and soul thriving.

  • A competitive rewards package including salary performance bonus programs, pension plan*, and more to help build your personal wealth.

  • Paid time off including vacation, and days for wellness, volunteering, and cultural, spiritual, or religious connection.

  • BCAA membership, with valuable perks and Member savings on every day and special spending, from gas and coffee to clothes, sports and event tickets, and hotels.

  • Meaningful, rewarding work for a BC Top Employer known for putting people first and constantly building a better workplace for all our team members.
