Make an impact as a Manager with our Indigenous Services Assurance and Accounting team. Our Indigenous Services team of diverse professionals works with more than 270 Indigenous peoples, groups and organizations across Canada and shares a passion for learning and understanding their history, culture, and contributions to our country. With more than 500 team members dedicated to this sector, no other firm has invested as much time and resources into serving the unique needs of Indigenous communities. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expertise to empower Indigenous communities, organizations, businesses and individuals in navigating a dynamic social, political and economic environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead client facing engagement teams to complete audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions with Indigenous communities and enterprises.
  2. Deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables.
  3. Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop.
  4. Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  5. Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports.
  6. Inspire and develop your team through effective mentoring, clear goal-setting, constructive feedback, and performance reviews, fostering both professional and personal growth.
  7. Elevate MNP’s profile by leading in the local professional community and networking strategically to explore new business development opportunities.
  8. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Skills and Experience

  1. CPA designation.
  2. Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
  3. 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience.
  4. Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
