Manager, Accounting Systems

Corporate Accounting is integral to the overall function and efficacy of the accounting team and serves as a key partner to the business. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the consolidated review and analysis of the company, communicating results internally and externally including to the parent company, communicating and monitoring adherence to policies, among other activities. The aim of the Corporate Accounting team is to support the business and set the tone of best practices across the company.
Position Overview
The Manager, Accounting Systems, reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting & Consolidations, will oversee the maintenance of accounting and financial reporting systems.
Responsibilities:
OneStream
- System Design and Implementation: Participate in the design and implementation of OneStream to align system capabilities with business needs; serve as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Develop a full understanding of the application covering all artifacts including Cubes, Dimensions, Business Rules, Cube views, Dashboards, Workflows and Integration with JDE.
- System Administration (Post Implementation):
- Manage and monitor JDE to OneStream data imports.
- Update Transformation Rule in coordination with business requirements.
- Address and resolve business queries, providing analysis and recommendations.
- Execute consolidations, review logs, and monitor system environment status.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain and develop financial reports; support user-generated Excel reports.
- Update system documentation, including administrator guides and user manuals.
- Training and Support:
- Maintain, develop and deliver on-going user training with an understanding of all OneStream training options.
- IT Collaboration:
- Oversee user security, installations, environment reviews, and audit compliance in collaboration with IT.
PMWeb
- Access control, permissions, and user management
- Enforcing security protocols to ensure sensitive information is protected, including access controls such that only authorized users can modify data.
- Create, manage and update user accounts and passwords.
- Administer user permissions, assigning roles and controlling access to system resources based on defined roles.
- System configuration and customization
- Configure platform settings including templates, workflows, and approval processes.
- Customize fields and layouts to meet specific needs of user and departments.
- Configure automated alerts, notifications, and reminders to keep users informed of critical project updates.
- Monitoring and support
- Track user interaction to identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Provide technical support to users facing issues, and work with PMWeb support when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user-facing issues, related to system access, functionality, and errors.
- Customize reporting
- Assist superusers with creating or modifying reports based on available data to meet business requirements.
- Data integration and updates
- Ensure proper integration with JDE, alongside the IT department.
- Manage the installation of system updates and new features, ensuring continued operation of the platform.
- Compliance and best practices
- Ensure the platform operates in accordance with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Define and promote best practices to optimize workflow efficiency and system effectiveness.
Other Duties
- JDE: set up and maintenance of business unit table, chart of accounts, calculations and computations, bank accounts, address book, etc. and coordinate with other systems; review and approve all requests.
- Power BI: troubleshoot common issues with reports; investigate and help resolve discrepancies between source systems and reports; roll forward reports each month/quarter.
- Actively coordinate with and supervise one direct report in support of system maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Other ad hoc reporting, accounting, or project work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in management and administration of and proficiency with financial reporting tool (ie. OneStream, JDE, BI tools, Spreadsheet Server, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, working with team members of diverse levels of experience.
- Working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Real Estate industry experience is a strong asset.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Superb communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and flexible while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well with others and develop cooperative working relationships in a collaborative team environment, including leading and coaching junior team members.
