Pacific Quorum (Okanagan) is a subsidiary of Pacific Quorum Properties, BC's largest locally owned Property Management company. The position of the Accounting Manager is assigned to meet the Strata and Rental Accounting service delivery needs of our clients through the efficient and effective management of the Property Accountants. The role also includes some corporate responsibilities related to PQ Okanagan and supporting the Regional Manager of the Okanagan Region. An Accounting Designation is preferred but applicants with equivalent experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervision of Property Accountants (Kelowna and region).
  2. Experience in Public Accounting preferred, with an ability to oversee a team that produces a large volume of monthly financials.
  3. Advise on Regional Related Accounting Matters as part of the Regional Management Team.
  4. Guide and assist the company and staff on accounting-related issues.
  5. Hiring, training, and ongoing development of Property Accountants and A/P and A/R clerks.
  6. Drive a Positive Culture within your team.
  7. Resolve escalated accounting issues.
  8. Train all new staff (including PMs and Admins) on accounting software and Financial Statement review.
  9. Manage the financials of three to four key accounts.
  10. Ensure compliance with the Strata Property Act, Real Estate Services Act, and Residential Tenancy Act within the region, with assistance from the management team.
  11. Ensure accurate and complete corporate billing of services to clients according to contracts.
  12. Payroll and WorkSafe BC processing for regional staff and clients' staff.
  13. GST submittance.
  14. Onboarding of new properties includes creating financials and training staff to assume these new clients.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Position Details: This is an in-office position (Kelowna). Position to start with three weeks vacation along with additional flex days. Salary based on experience.
