Skretting is looking for a Maintenance Technician (Industrial Mechanic - Millwright) who can carry out mechanical maintenance and repair work or/and mechanical installations or equipment (such as production machinery, rotating equipment, electrical installations, transport systems, buildings, facilities and constructions), so that technical assignments are carried out on time, safely and according to specifications to support the optimal running of production.

Job Description:

About The Role:

The Maintenance Technician (Industrial Mechanical - Millwright) operates within a mechanical/production/technical department, focusing on the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance. The main purpose of the job is to prevent any malfunction of the equipment, apparatus, machinery, or systems that are used in the production process.

The job may be limited to one single technical discipline (such as construction, mechanical, rotating, electrical), or may be more skilled so that apart from one major technical discipline, the Maintenance Technician is able to deal with issues in related technical areas.

At the highest job level, the “all round” Maintenance Technician is capable of dealing with any of the issues that might occur, troubleshooting and solving technical issues in an expert role.

Responsibilities:

Inspections and preventive/planned maintenance:

1. Checks and assesses the condition of handling equipment, pneumatic and/or mechanical/electrical, based on maintenance schedules/checklists.
2. Restores (imminent) defects and performs corrective maintenance activities arising from inspections (according to schedule).
3. Signals to the superior (potential) flaws with details of the nature and severity, proposes solutions to avoid (future or recurring), works on planned maintenance activities of more extensive and/or complex nature (i.e. during maintenance stops), and may supervise technicians of third parties.

Malfunctions and defects/repairs:

1. Troubleshoots malfunctions and defects in equipment, machinery, measuring and control systems and other parts of the installation.
2. Assesses the nature and extent of the problem and determines whether instant repair is necessary or possible, assesses any fault causes and potential solutions.
3. Performs emergency repairs, disassembles (parts of) equipment/machinery and makes necessary repairs/changes to the equipment, if necessary in consultation with the supervisor.

Modifications and improvements:

1. Carries out modifications and overhaul work based on work orders and/or instructions from the supervisor.
2. Proposes improvements in equipment, machinery, and other areas based on expertise and experience in maintenance.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 7+ years of strong maintenance experience with an understanding of the safety standards in the manufacturing operations or production environment.

Expectation from the Role:

• Hands-on with all maintenance activities in the appropriate maintenance management systems in order to have a complete administration and insight into the state and history of all equipment, files all technical data.
• Good knowledge of the safety standards, ability to signal potential hazardous and/or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe situations.
