Maintenance Technician

Job Type : Regular Maintenance Journeyman Electrician / Millwright or Welder – Full Time

The Agropur Ice Cream Plant in Edmonton, Alberta is looking to fill a Maintenance Journeyman position with one of the following: Electrician, Millwright, or Welder. If you have a valid Journeyman ticket in any of the three trades listed above, please apply. Nightshift: $43.04 / hr

What do you need to get this position?

• Journeyman Electrician / Millwright or Welder (Valid in Alberta)
• Previous experience in the maintenance of food processing / packaging equipment would be an asset.
• Knowledge of PLC and programming is an asset.
• Ability to perform basic TIG welding for quick repairs and small fabrication jobs is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.

What’s involved in the Mechanic Journeyman role:

• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on machines and equipment.
• Monitor day-to-day operations, prioritize work orders as needed, and ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing your skills, observations, and participation.
• Provide an elevated level of customer service through a proactive approach to daily plant problems and issues.
• Ensure all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements.

What you need to join our team:

• Journeyman Electrician, Millwright or Welder.
• 4th class power engineer certification (asset / preferred).
• Available to work flexible shifts from Tuesday to Saturday.
• Experience in food processing / manufacturing industry (asset).
• Physically fit with a good attendance record and personal safety record.
• Intermediate oral and written English (asset).
