GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a Maintenance Technician at AC Hotels by Marriott, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our hotel’s facilities and systems. This position is responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance to uphold the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests while preserving the hotel’s aesthetic and operational integrity. You will work closely with the management team and other departments to deliver exceptional service and maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and functionality throughout the hotel.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education and Experience

  1. 1-2 years experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
  2. Previous hotel experience is an asset.
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical (electrical certification an asset), plumbing, HVAC, painting, and mechanical systems.
  4. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems and equipment efficiently.

Preferred:

  1. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  2. Familiarity with Marriott GXP
  3. Capability to communicate in both English and French
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for guest satisfaction

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying conditions (including outdoor environments) and stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  2. Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and push/pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs.
  3. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching.
  4. Use manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preventive & Routine Maintenance:

  1. Perform daily maintenance tasks across all hotel areas including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, laundry, and mechanical rooms.
  2. Proactively troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems to ensure consistent operation.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and facilities to avoid malfunctions and extend the lifespan of systems and fixtures.
  4. Work closely with other departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to address guest needs promptly and minimize operational disruption.
  5. Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks performed, including any parts used, work completed, and time spent.
  6. Assist with the inventory management of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing repairs.

Guest Room Maintenance:

  1. Address guest requests and perform timely repairs in guest rooms, ensuring the highest level of comfort and functionality.
  2. Repair and replace malfunctioning equipment, such as light fixtures, plumbing, heating/cooling units, and furniture, in alignment with Marriott’s quality standards.

Emergency Response & Troubleshooting:

  1. Respond quickly and effectively to hotel-wide emergencies, such as power outages, plumbing failures, and HVAC breakdowns, minimizing disruption and inconvenience for guests.
  2. Provide immediate resolution of urgent maintenance issues to ensure guest satisfaction and comfort.

Special Projects & Upgrades:

  1. Assist with larger-scale renovation, construction, or system upgrades as required, including guest room improvements or new equipment installations.
  2. Participate in hotel improvement projects while ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Health & Safety:

  1. Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety guidelines, local building codes, and Marriott’s operational standards.
  2. Routinely inspect hotel facilities for safety hazards and take corrective action as needed, keeping the environment safe for both guests and employees.
  3. Maintain fire and life safety systems, including emergency exit lights and fire alarms, ensuring they are fully operational at the same time.

Team Collaboration:

  1. Practice the AC Brand Elevation mantras in your daily delivery approach with guests and AC family members.
  2. Actively participate in the daily affirmations stand-up meeting and apply the key takeaways in interactions with guests to enhance their experience.
