Maintenance Technician

Kelland Properties is a dynamic and rapidly growing group of companies located in beautiful Nanaimo, BC. The group consists of 5 divisions: 1) Property Development, 2) Property Management, 3) Hospitality, 4) Venture Capital, and 5) Marine. Kelland Properties is adding a full-time Project & Maintenance Labourer to play a key role in Property Development and Property Management repair and maintenance duties, covering multiple properties in the central island region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Position:

• Assist with routine general maintenance repair tasks
• Respond to tenant repair calls in a timely manner
• Coordinate with vendors to execute deliverables on specific projects
• Create and update maintenance and project schedules
• Source and price vendors and replacement/repair items by following reasonable spending guidelines
• Perform related duties as required or assigned

Skills and Requirements:

• Must have:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant or related work experience – basic carpentry, electrical, general maintenance.
  • The ability to gather information, accurately assess issues, seek support, and take direction as necessary
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly develop working relationships with a broad range of individuals, both internally and externally
  • Basic computer skills
• Must be self-directed and team-oriented, with proficient organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must pass a Criminal Record Check
• Must be available for E-calls outside of business hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
