The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise tradespersons and contractors assigned to their team in the completion of maintenance work. They will also oversee the completion of inspections and repairs of equipment assigned to them. The Supervisor will perform regular inspections and audits to ensure the equipment's health. They will ensure that their team meets safety objectives and adheres to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge – education, certificates, licenses, registration, and knowledge required
Trade certification or college diploma is required (industrial electrician, industrial mechanic, heavy duty mechanic, and instrumentation technician). Preference given to candidates with multiple disciplines.
Strong proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, excel, and spreadsheets.
Proactively stays on top of industry and business trends that relate to my area of specialty.
Technical Skills – required skills to apply knowledge
Preference given to a candidate who has the following skills: Project Management Professional, Certified Planner, CADD, CNC, machinist, vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, acoustic emissions, electrical equipment testing, non-destructive testing, online equipment monitoring, power generation, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System. Proficiency with J D Edwards E1 would be an advantage.
Preference given to a candidate who has maintenance supervisor or planner experience.
It is necessary that the candidate have well developed and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.

Maintenance supervisory/manager experience in an industrial setting (electrical, mechanical, mobile, instrumentation, facilities, and reliability). Preference given to a candidate who has supervised multiple skills from the list above.

Responsibilities
Supervises and coordinates subcontracted services and maintenance personnel
Assigns work orders.
Prepares and delivers safety brief and work instructions.
Ensures maintenance trades are adequately trained and equipped
Tracks training activities of trades workforce assigned to their crew.
Ensures crews have the correct equipment and training to complete assigned work.
Maintenance documentation
Ensures maintenance activities are properly documented and filed.
Creates work orders to address equipment and system deficiencies.
Technical knowledge
Understands the function and operation of equipment under their responsibility.
Supports crew with technical knowledge of equipment.
Reviews operations of equipment and safety standards
Performs regular tours of areas of responsibility to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Safety Compliance
Ensures tradespersons compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Reviews safety policies and procedures with tradespersons.
