Weyerhaeuser in Princeton, BC is seeking to add a Maintenance Reliability Coordinator to its lumber manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have proven abilities or exceptional aptitude in safety leadership, reliability/maintenance practices, team development and technical capabilities with experience working in an industrial setting. We are looking for someone who can lead our maintenance team to world class execution of standard manufacturing and maintenance practices to improve our processes and increase reliability. Competent in all areas of maintaining strong working relationships, maintenance processes, and administration, the successful candidate will have the ability to grow and develop as a leader within the company.

Princeton, BC is a historic town of approximately 2,700 people nestled in the Similkameen region next to the Similkameen and Tulameen rivers. It is surrounded by breathtaking scenery of rich forest and several lakes, host to cross country skiing, golfing, fishing/hunting, and camping. For those who desire a faster pace, Princeton is 110 kms from Osoyoos and Penticton (wine country), 162 kms from Kelowna and 284 kms to Vancouver. Living here means access to the Kettle Valley Rail path and some of BC’s greatest outdoor adventures.

Key Functions:

  • Safely delivering operational excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Role model all safety standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core values, people principles, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Ensure teams have safety understanding, alignment, and engagement
  • Share responsibility for attaining a world class reliability culture
  • Working a team of ~20 tradespeople in delivering work execution excellence
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with operations and maintenance personnel, corporate resources, peers, and senior leadership to continuously improve mill operations to improve reliability
  • Facilitates fact-based meetings with maintenance, production, leadership to identify priorities and plans to improve, implements and leads the plans, and documents and tracks progress
  • Practice responsible financial management in the execution of maintenance reliability functions
  • Continuously improve our preventative and predictive maintenance program following "best maintenance practices" and utilizing SAP
  • Contribute toward strategic planning process to include providing input, direction and solutions to issues based on analytical data
  • Remain current and up to date on changing technical, reliability and maintenance management improvements in the industry

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience or demonstrate aptitude in supporting a team of professionals in a reliability role
  • Demonstrate expertise safely leading a world-class reliability team, and professional reliability certification, such as CMRP, CRL, etc.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with and promote healthy teamwork
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with SAP or other CMMS systems, along with strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrate experience in effective root cause analysis
  • Ability to develop and lead training activities
  • Willingness to support a 24/7 operating schedule
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Forestry, or an industry-related field, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Materials Engineering would be an asset
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $83,400 - $120,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Nonunion Canadian employees are automatically enrolled in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan, which includes a paid company match up to 6%, in addition to a company contribution equaling up to 7.25% of your base salary. Employees are also eligible to enroll in the Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP).
