Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Planner at our Lethbridge, AB location.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and schedule all standard and preventive maintenance work orders
  2. Generate routine equipment preventative maintenance tasks
  3. Update and improve preventative maintenance tasks based on feedback
  4. Prepare and sequence weekly maintenance schedule and area shutdowns
  5. Work with management to balance the work schedule, labour availability and plant priorities including predictive work scheduled and managing to the budget
  6. Administer and ensure the integrity of the data in the enterprise resource planning (IFS CMMS) system
  7. Manage and optimize part preparation for daily work
  8. Support third party contractors and assist with their requisitions and purchase orders
  9. Schedule and update status of incomplete jobs and track the work order to completion
  10. Back up for Maintenance Supervisor with support from Maintenance Manager
  11. Administer annual shutdown system and provide support for Maintenance and Purchasing Departments
  12. Keep completed work order file, including spare parts and manuals, by equipment number electronically and/or manually
  13. Hands-on work with maintenance as required
  14. Manage and promote plant safety
  15. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing or maintenance environment with previous planning and scheduling experience
  2. A degree or 2 year diploma in a Maintenance field or equivalent experience
  3. CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience
  4. Previous procurement and 3rd party vendor management experience, budget preparation training and safety
  5. Demonstrated initiative and excellent communication skills with experience in negotiation
  6. Detail-oriented with strong data analysis capabilities
  7. High computer skills and the ability to negotiate through IFS software and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Project
  8. Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices
  9. Past operations experience in warehousing an asset
