Maintenance Person

Mac-Weld Machining Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Millwright to take on the task of sharing our vision locally and globally.

The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for assembling, installing, and adjusting equipment and machinery.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
• Install machinery and mechanical equipment, assembling prior to installation
• Repair or replace defective machinery parts
• Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
• Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Conduct basic maintenance repairs of the facility including plumbing and some electrical work
• Troubleshoot machine problems as they arise
• Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
• Other assigned duties

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience
• Professional Trades Certification or Red Seal is required
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
• Experience with tools, precision measuring instruments, or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Manufacturing environment
• Shift work
• Overtime
• Exposure to dust, vibrations, and noise
• Standing for long periods of time
• Lifting heavy material up to 50 lbs.
• Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment

This is a full-time permanent position in our Sarnia facility.

Salary: $24.64-$30.90 / hr

Signing Bonus: New regular employees will receive a signing bonus of $500 after successfully completing their three-month probationary period, and $1000 after one year of continuous employment. The employee must be on active payroll for the entire timeframe to qualify. Contract positions do not qualify for the signing bonus.
