Our client, a well-established packaging materials manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Millwright to join their Markham facility. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated Maintenance Millwright who is ready to step into a lead role overseeing a small team. This position will still have hands-on technical responsibility but the opportunity to grow your leadership skills and PM planning experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, overhaul machinery, install machinery.
2. Experience with pump and motor alignment, equipment disassembly and reassembly, measuring and setting of components within prescribed tolerances.
3. Work with instrumentation and electrical departments to troubleshoot and resolve daily any machine-related issues as required.
4. Understand health and safety requirements and work within the ministry guidelines with respect to the industrial regulations.

Qualifications:

1. A valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A is a must.
2. Full set (up to 24 mm/1") of metric & standard tools.
3. Red Seal Journeyman certification.
4. Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting.
5. All position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.).
6. 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
7. Able to read mechanical drawings.
8. Able to work shifts as well as some extended hours and weekends.
9. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills and able to work with other trades and operators.
10. Safety training is an asset (fall arrest, hoisting and rigging, hand tool safety, etc.).
