Maintenance Millwright

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment.
2. Inspect machines in operation on a continual basis to detect problems; exercise judgment in making the necessary adjustments so that quality control standards are maintained.
3. Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
4. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
5. Share questions, learnings, and best practices with fellow mechanics in order to contribute to machine efficiency levels leading to decreased machine breakdowns and downtime.
6. Retain accurate maintenance records and journals.
7. Repair and maintain processing and material handling equipment.
8. Carry out requirements of Preventative Maintenance programs.
9. Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and complies with applicable industry safety standards.
10. Assist equipment operators to improve line efficiency.
11. Responsible for the setup and operation of various packaging and production pieces equipment.
12. Adjust equipment to ensure production runs are executed efficiently, with high quality and minimal waste.
13. Partnering with QA, Packagers, and Lead Leaders.
14. Troubleshoots and repairs packaging and production equipment.

Skills and Experience:

1. Red Seal Certified Electrician preferred, or a combination of over five years of work experience as a Maintenance Technician supplemented by post-secondary courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting.
2. Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred).
3. Experience in repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of processing, packaging, and material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
4. Able to take direction, both verbal and written, and communicate effectively; proficiency in reading and writing English is essential.
5. Willingness to work continental shift work.
6. Electronic, mechanical, and analytical aptitude.
7. Able to work under pressure.
8. Highly motivated self-starter.
9. Able to work alone and unsupervised.
10. Strong team player.
11. Effective time management skills and willingness to work weekends and after hours as necessary.
