The ABB Measurement & Analysis plant in Quebec is a world leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that meet several industrial analysis needs daily. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec, you will actively contribute to our clients' projects, as well as to the research and development of our technology. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. You will be in charge of internal mechanical manufacturing within the Measurement and Analysis business unit, Quebec City (Canada). Attached to the opto-mechanical group, you will manufacture parts for optical instruments or integration and test assemblies in close collaboration with designers, engineers, and other technical engineering teams (system, electronics, test, and integration). The R&D machinist is responsible for planning manufacturing, programming, determining the required tooling, and ensuring the quality of the final parts while respecting internal processes. The sought-after machinist places great importance on teamwork, demonstrates a high attention to detail, and has good analytical and problem-solving skills. He/she is autonomous, responsible, methodical, shows initiative in establishing good practices, and is dedicated to completing mandates.
