Machine Operator (Summer Student) Weekend Shift

S&C is continuing to grow. Where do you come in? We are looking for a talented CNC Operator for the Weekend Shift who has a passion for innovation in their field of expertise, enjoys working as part of a team, and is committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Work Location: 90 Belfield Road, Etobicoke M9W 1G4

Shift: Weekend Shift (Friday - Sunday, 6am - 6pm)

As a CNC Operator you will:

• Set up, adjust and operate CNC machines (TC5000, Laser, Metal Turning, Brake Press, Form Brake, etc.) according to work orders and specifications with minor programming.
• Use manual pump trucks, cranes (overhead/jib) and lift devices as required to move material and finished product(s).
• Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, target plans, and verify correct run quantities.
• Visually inspect parts after each machine cycle and perform inspections as required.
• Optimize the running of parts to best take advantage of the machine’s operating time.
• Fill out production boards with output for the shift as well as assist in planning afternoon shift production.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and follow organizational practices.

Who are we looking for? Someone who has:

• Is currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (diploma or degree program).
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, go no-go gauges, etc.
• Excellent mechanical/mathematical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 22 lbs.
