About the Role:

Vitacore is looking for an experienced Machine Operator who will join our dynamic and skilled Recycling team. The successful individual will have previous experience working within the recycling, production, manufacturing, or related industry and will have a minimum of 1 year of technical experience. Experience with high temperature systems, extrusion lines, and/or waste disposal environments are a plus.

Responsibilities include:

1. Follow Standard Operating Procedures on Recycling machinery operations.
2. Follow all applicable WorkSafe BC regulations & comply with company policies.
3. Carry out preventive maintenance & repairs on all machines and production equipment.
4. Capable of working with a team in a low-contact environment.
5. Adhere to environmental and health protection concerns, and don proper PPE at all times during operations of machinery.
6. Report major incidents (that cause downtime or when extra help is required) to Supervisor or Operations Manager immediately.
7. Work jointly with the Team Leads and Supervisors and other company staff on operating and troubleshooting problems with production equipment.
8. Assist in the Root Cause Analysis process to determine the immediate cause and help develop sustaining countermeasures.
9. Report observations of any deviation to the process/procedure or a defect or non-conformance to the product which may result in a situation requiring safety assessment to the management immediately.
10. Perform other duties or undertake projects as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Minimum 1 year of technical or related experience.
2. Previous experience in a PPE manufacturing or plastics recycling environment a major asset.
3. Exposure to equipment parts and maintenance processes is an asset.
4. Exposure to Inventory Control systems/procedures.
5. Work in a safe manner and follow all health & safety policies and procedures.
6. Possess a solid work ethic and demonstrate a professional, positive attitude.
7. Willingness to work in a continuous improvement atmosphere.
8. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
9. High situational awareness.
10. Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills.

Compensation:

1. Between $23-26 CAD per hour.
