What is the opportunity?
Working within the Wealth Management Data and AI team, you will contribute to the productionization of machine learning solutions that are efficient and scalable, and the maintenance of data assets within the RBC on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
What will you do?
Develop APIs and microservices to productionize proof-of-concept solutions developed by the Data Science team, optimize algorithms and prototypical solutions for efficient implementation.
Build and maintain automated data and ETL pipelines across databases and cloud environments, such as SQL server, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, S3, Snowflake, etc.
Support applications and projects with infrastructure design decisions, and monitoring solutions.
Collaborate with an agile team to converge on the best end-to-end solutions.
What do you need to succeed?
Be a jack of all trades, with experience in data science and data engineering.
Be able to familiarize oneself with new data sets quickly.
Able to communicate effectively with the team.
Be curious about state-of-the-art technology and AI algorithms.
Must-have
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Statistics, or other STEM majors. Masters/PhD considered an asset.
2+ years of work experience within the data science and/or data engineering domain.
Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning packages such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL.
Experience in productionizing and deploying ML-based applications/solutions in hybrid environments on-prem and major cloud environments, such as AWS and Azure.
Experience in orchestrating complicated data pipelines with large-scale datasets.
Ability to pick up new tools and frameworks quickly, including learning other programming languages as needed.
Nice-to-have
Experience with Agile software development and DevOps pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub actions.
Experience in building applications with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and agentic systems.
Experience and/or strong understanding of RESTful or GraphQL API design, database development, authentication (OAuth) management, and infrastructure components like Terraform and OpenShift.
Experience with graph databases.
