Lumber Manager

Boundary Consumers Co-op is hiring a Lumber Manager at our Home Centre in Deloraine, Manitoba.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the HABS Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the complete day-to-day operations of the Home Centre Lumber Department, including:

• Demonstrating day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety;
• Overseeing adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, image standards, safety, and asset protection. Managing the procurement of merchandise and ensuring all ordering schedules are followed and inventory control programs meet customer requirements. Ensuring proper receiving and warehousing procedures are in effect;
• Preparing, administering, and achieving budgeted goals as they relate to pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory of the commodity. Developing, reviewing, and obtaining approval of annual operating budgets to ensure adherence and appropriate utilization of funds;
• Managing growth of sales to improve profitability, and making recommendations and overseeing store pricing, promotions, and products. Providing recommendations for major maintenance repairs and expense items and ensuring the store maintains proper housekeeping.

Duties will include: providing superior customer service, customer project quotations, budgets, sales, margins, supervising employees, overseeing delivery of products along with responsibility for overseeing ordering, receiving, managing inventory and merchandising, and other duties as assigned.

• You have a large knowledge base of the various products sold within the lumber department;
• You have 3 - 5 years management experience, with a construction background being an asset;
