Loss Prevention protects the assets of a store against prohibited activity and works with the leadership team to maintain operational controls to reduce shortage and damages.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service to clients as needed.
  2. Conduct surveillance on the sales floor to identify, observe, and detain or deter individuals engaging in prohibited activity on private property.
  3. Adhere to all laws and policies concerning detentions, search and seizure, and the preservation of evidence.
  4. Prepare reports relative to any incidents and merchandise recoveries.
  5. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with all internal partners, local law enforcement agencies, and other retailers.
  6. Testify in court on behalf of the company in any case, criminal or civil, to which the LP is summoned.

A successful candidate requires:

  1. Hold a valid Security Guard License in Ontario.
  2. Hold a valid First Aid/CPR + AED Training.
  3. 1 year of asset protection/loss prevention experience in a retail environment.
  4. Possess strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.

An ideal candidate will have:

  1. Demonstrable experience in conflict resolution and issue management.
  2. An ability to remain calm and observe and report details under pressure.
  3. The ability to change and adapt quickly to ambiguity or ambiguous situations.
  4. Ability to maintain composure and provide effective coaching in the moment on loss prevention techniques.
  5. Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel.
  6. Availability to work flexible hours and days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  7. Availability to work at multiple locations within a market.
  8. A reliable mode of transportation.

Work Hours:

  1. Full Time (40-44 hrs / week)
  2. Part Time (20 – 24 hrs / week)
  3. Casual (evenings / weekends)
