Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst

The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst plays a key role within the Department of Social and Cultural Development, assisting Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. to advance its health priority areas. The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst will directly report to the Assistant Director- Health and work with a team to advance NTI’s mission. The Department is responsible for activities related to NTI’s obligations as the Designated Inuit Organization (DIO) under Article 32 of the Nunavut Agreement.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in advancing health priority areas.
2. Work with a team to support NTI's mission.
3. Manage multiple files and meet demanding deadlines.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience in health or social policy.
2. Knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, especially Article 32.
3. Understanding of NTI’s Mission and Corporate Governance system.
4. Familiarity with Regional, Territorial, National and International Inuit Organizations.
5. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Inuit issues and health-related issues affecting Inuit in Nunavut.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Fluency in Inuktut or Inuinnaqtun, or willingness to undertake training to attain fluency.

Preference: Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Compensation:

Starting salary is $121,120.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a comprehensive benefits package including an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance. Housing allowance of $35,232.00.
