As a key member of the Material Control team, the Logistic Support Services (LSS) Specialist will report to the Manager, Material Control, and will provide logistic support exclusive to parts movement and part management to all Voyageur Inventoried Bases. Liaise between Line MTC and Management for URGENT requirements.
Requested Parts/Tracking and Maintaining
- Follow-up/monitor/action parts/tools requirements for LMBs/TLMBs.
- Forward requests to Procurement and Repair & Overhaul to purchase items required for LMBs/TLMBs and follow up on timely procurement of parts/tools.
- Action critical stock shortages that have potential occupational impact.
- Determine daily shipping requirements and communicate and coordinate with Material Control Supervisor to ensure requirements are met.
- Maintain and update the electronic inventory data, ensure location changes are actioned promptly, and discrepancies are rectified and/or reported without delay.
- Determine and select best methods of transportation of material to and from LMBs/TLMBs.
- Monitor established processes for shipping, receiving, and issuing of material and make recommendations for process improvement as required.
- Track orders to ensure timely deliveries.
- Source shipping quotes on behalf of LMB/TLMBs routine requirements.
- Maintain an inventory of parts for Line Maintenance (Held in Hangar 5).
Communication/Teamwork
- Create and provide cost centers as requested for Repair and Overhaul and subsequent issuing of parts used on cost centers.
- Issuing and removal of parts on work orders.
- Lead the daily AOG meetings, provide updates on AOGs and distribute AOG notes.
- Maintain an AOG reporting system to ensure that communication on parts status is maintained and available to Field Maintenance.
- Prepare shipping documents (i.e.: Commercial Invoices, bills of lading).
- Coordinate our supply chain procedures to maximize quality of delivery.
- Provide information to Line MTC about the status of their Part Recs.
- Provide assistance to LMBs/TLMBs as it pertains to shipping of dangerous goods from the field.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Provide additional support for projects assigned by Manager, Materials Control.
Quality
- Oversee return of expired parts from the field for calibration.
- Prepare/Discuss reports for upper management.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Dangerous Goods Certified.
- WHMIS Certified.
- Capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office Suite.

Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our North Bay head office.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
- Occasional travel required.
- This position requires LSS staff to be “on-call” to support after hour requirements.
