About Our Client

This client is a global manufacturer and distributor in the commercial space with a need to expand within North America.

Job Description

  1. Logistics Strategy Development: Assess logistics needs and collaborate with management to decide between in-house or outsourced operations, and propose supply chain improvements based on cost, time, and quality analysis.
  2. Supplier Relationship Management (Outsourced): Select and negotiate with logistics providers, ensuring optimal cost, service, and flexibility; monitor performance through KPIs.
  3. In-house Operations Management: Oversee warehouse design, recruitment, and internal process implementation for in-house logistics.
  4. Receiving and Storage: Ensure efficient receiving, inspection, and storage of goods for in-house warehouses or coordinate outsourced providers for proper handling.
  5. Order Preparation and Shipping: Supervise and coordinate the timely preparation and delivery of orders, addressing issues like delays or errors.
  6. Inventory Control: Oversee systems for accurate inventory management, conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy.
  7. Transportation Management: Plan and optimize shipments for cost and timeliness, and negotiate competitive pricing with carriers.
  8. Contract Negotiation and Monitoring: Review and negotiate contracts with logistics operators, carriers, and suppliers, and monitor compliance for outsourced or in-house operations.
  9. Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with transportation, storage, and distribution regulations, maintaining necessary documentation for both in-house and outsourced operations.
  10. Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Identify logistics inefficiencies, implement technological solutions, track KPIs, and manage the logistics budget to optimize cost and service quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications in Supply Chain Management are a plus.
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, transportation, or supply chain management.
  • Warehouse Management: Experience managing both in-house and outsourced warehouses.
  • Process Optimization: Proven experience in optimizing logistics operations and designing processes.
  • Logistics Operations: Experience working with logistics operators and transport providers.
  • Team Management: Experience in team management and coordination of third-party services.
  • Leadership Skills: Capable of leading logistics strategy with a results-driven approach.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills for effective coordination and problem-solving.
